Inga's connection with water began in her childhood, with her early years in synchronized swimming sparking a lifelong passion. This initial engagement with the aquatic world, combined with her first experience designing swimwear with her mother, set her on a path toward sustainability and fashion. It wasn't just a swimwear project; it was the beginning of a journey toward understanding the impact of fashion on our environment. Inspired to explore this further, Inga pursued arts and then fashion design, seeking to blend her creativity with her environmental consciousness.
However, working in the fashion industry opened Inga's eyes to its unsustainable practices, leading her to take a transformative year off to travel. Landing in Melbourne, Australia, she found herself immersed in a community of creative professionals who shared her values of sustainability and innovation. This experience was crucial; surrounded by like-minded individuals, Inga found the inspiration she needed to dream bigger and differently.

The unforeseen return to Germany, prompted by the global pandemic, marked not an end but a groundbreaking beginning for Inga. Armed with inspiration and a clear vision, she established SEASICK SWIM, a brand rooted in the principles of circular design. Our mission goes beyond creating swimwear; it's about making a statement for sustainability, with each piece crafted from recycled materials poised for recycling again, incorporating innovative SEAQUAL YARN® to combat ocean plastic pollution. Inga's vision expands with the introduction of our circular surf apparel line, welcoming a broader community to join our sustainable journey.
